Prof R Jayashankar, an international management consultant with specialization in Corporate Restructuring, has since February 21st been teaching a specialization course in Corporate Restructuring in the third intake of the joint Regent-MSM MBA programme of the Regent University College of Science and Technology.
He holds a PhD degree in Business Management with professional qualifications in accounting, IT and Corporate law with a total work experience of 35 years in management teaching, training, and consulting.
Prof Jayashankar set up the first MBA programme in Eastern Europe as the Dean for the International Center for promotion of Enterprises (ICPE): a UN sponsored intergovernmental organization, in Ljubljana, Slovenia. He was a Diplomat and Advisor for the Slovenian Government from 1989 to 1994. He has also advised the Governments of Mongolia, Kazakhstan and China on Enterprise Restructuring and privatization on behalf of the World Bank, UNDP, Asian Development Bank and the Common Wealth Secretariat.
Prof Jayashankar teaches a variety of subjects at the MBA and Doctoral levels, among which are decision sciences, quantitative methods, management control systems, MIS, +6e Business and Corporate Restructuring, and Global Supply Chain Management. He has carried out training and teaching assignments in 26 countries around the world. He has also been a Visiting Faculty for the Curtin Business School at Perth, Australia, and a Consultant Professor for Maastricht School of Management from 1992 till date.
From 1975 to 1988, Prof. R Jayashankar taught extensively in India-Delhi University, the National Management Programme (MDI), International Management Institute and the Indian Institute of Management, Banagalore. He was appointed by the Government of India as Director (Planning and Management Services) for Goa Port Trust. He also was Head of the Education and training for CMC Ltd and carried out a number of programs for the Indian Civil servants on behalf of the Department of Personnel and Training.
Prof. R Jayashankar set up the first International Post- Experience MBA programme in Eastern Europe for Administrators and Civil servants sponsored by the World Bank, UNDP, the Commonwealth Secretariat, DANIDA and the ADB. He is actively involved in formulating restructuring and privatisation strategies for diverse enterprises and public systems from Europe, Latin America, Africa and Asian countries.
Prof Jayashankar has published more than thirty research papers in International journals and four books including one on Decision Support Systems published by McGraw Hill.
