Regent-Ghana is glad to welcome its third student from Umwelt-Campus Birkenfeld, Aaron Michel. Aaron would be spending a semester at Regent-Ghana, as part of the student exchange programme agreement between the University and Umwelt-Campus Birkenfeld.
Back at Umwelt, Aaron is enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Business Informatics programme and is in his third academic year. At Regent, he’ll be taking courses run by the School of Business and Leadership.
Commenting on his experience at Regent so far, Aaron says, "The people I meet are always friendly and helpful. I find the lectures interesting because of the small student groups. It’s like working together as a family. Teaching is different here. It’s more direct. The people are not anonymous".
Apart from academics, Aaron says he’s looking forward to experiencing the various aspects of Ghanaian culture, while in Ghana. To achieve those aspirations, Aaron participated in the just ended Odwira festival where he was thrilled by the exuberant celebrations by the people of Akropong. In his observations he remarked, "I’ve never seen such a thing like this before in my life. The celebration is so colourful and exciting with so many impressions at a time that I don’t know which ones to capture. I’m certainly going to remember this day as one of the most remarkable experiences I’ve had while in Ghana; I love this"
Last year, Regent-Ghana welcomed its first set of exchange students from Umwelt-Campus Birkenfeld. Their semester of study was partially supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
Umwelt-Campus Birkenfeld (Environmental Campus Birkenfeld) is a branch of the Trier University of Applied Sciences in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Regent University College of Science and Technology is an affiliate institution of Umwelt-Campus Birkenfeld.
