Google Developer Group at Regent University Gets Google Approval

GDG Regent University

Regent now has a Google Developer Group (GDG) duly recognized by Google Inc.

Google Developer Groups (GDGs) are for developers who are interested in Google's developer technologies; such as Android, Chrome, Drive, and Google Cloud platforms, to product APIs like the Cast API,Maps API, and YouTube API.

Google Developer Group Regent University is a campus-based developer group. It is a sub-group of the existing Google Club at Regent. The activities of the Developer Group is however targeted at code related topics. Belonging to a Google Developer Group gives you access to the following:

  • Internship and Job opportunities in related fields
  • Learning opportunities
  • Google competitions where winners could win cash and other prizes.
  • Fun events
  • Android Development Boot Camps and Hackathons.

There are currently 544 GDG Chapters in 102 countries.

“We hope that the presence of GDG on campus will spark the interests of many students in the field of app development and related programs and also lead the charge for collaborative work among students” says Michael Mettle-Nunoo, GDG Lead.
