A two-day Strategic Planning Workshop was held from the 12th to 13th January 2015 at the Multi-purpose Hall of the City Campus.
Mr. Titus Etori Iguria, from Zion Technology Consultants, a Kenya-based architecture firm, facilitated the training workshop.
The first day of the workshop was open to the entire University community. A series of discussions were held, and recommendations made, aimed at enriching the University's service delivery as well as the academic lives of students and faculty.
The second day of the workshop was purposely for senior members of the University community. It offered the opportunity to address issues relevant to the attainment of the University’s strategic objectives and mission. In attendance at the workshop were Deans, Heads of Departments, Senior Administrative Staff, and management members.
Factors bordering on environmental sustainability, quality assurance, research output, and other issues that ensure the smooth and efficient operations of the University were highlighted. Commitments were made by participants to implement the recommendations that emerged from the workshop.
"The workshop was very useful", said Rev. Michael Doggu, the Deputy Registrar of the University. "It opened our eyes to some of the best practices in the management of Higher Education institutions".
