Regent Welcomes Professor Ravindra Sharma


Prof. Ravindra Sharma

Regent is pleased to welcome Professor Ravindra Sharma who would be joining the faculty of the School of Informatics, Engineering and Technology, starting this academic year (2015/2016).

An author of 5 engineering text books, with over 20 years of teaching experience; Prof. Sharma has held many academic and administrative roles around the world.

He received his B.Ed. from Madhya Pradesh Bhoj Open University, Bhopal and an M.Sc in Mathematics from G.G. D University, Bilaspur, India. He also holds an M.Tech in Information Technology from A.A. Deemed University, Allahabad, India. He earned his PhD in Applied Mathematics from G.G.D. University, Bilaspur, India.

From 2011 to 2014, he served as the Registrar for the National Institute of Technology (NIT) in India.

He has held various teaching appointments both in India and overseas.

Prof. Sharma has served as a guest faculty at Adama University, Ethiopia.

From 2006 to 2008, he was a Professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, Faculty of Natural Sciences, at Hawassa University, Ethiopia.

He has served as a visiting faculty at the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, Kampala University, Uganda, as well as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Mathematics of the Royal Bhutan Institute of Technology, Bhutan from 2004 to 2005.

He has a passion for sharing knowledge with young people, and has published several academic papers in various Journals.

His research interests are in the area of mathematical modeling, bio-informatics, discrete structures, environmental health modeling, and industrial mathematics.

He is a Life time member of the Indian Academy for Mathematical Modeling and Simulation and a member of the All India Achievers Foundation, Delhi.
