SICS 2613: Programming with Java


COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course provides students with the fundamental understanding of structured and object-oriented programming using Java.  It introduces the different concepts that are commonly associated with structured and object programming. The goal of the course is to develop skills such as program design and testing as well as the implementation of programs using a graphical IDE.

 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  1. Effectively apply programming concepts in solving real-world problems
  2. Demonstrate ability to think critically
  3. Locate and use information
  4. Demonstrate ability to integrate knowledge and idea in a coherent and meaningful manner
  5. Work effectively with others

 

COURSE ELEMENTS/REQUIREMENTS: 

Students are expected to attend and participate in class. For excused absences (illness, professional travel, work shifts, etc.) please notify lecturer by phone or e-mail before class. Makeup exams will only be allowed for excused absences and only when the lecturer is informed before the examination.
