Speech Delivered by Prof. E. K. Larbi at the Regent-Maastricht MBA Dinner on February 18, 2011

Good evening, distinguished ladies and gentlemen

We must never be comfortable with ordinariness; we are wired to achieve greatness; it is part of our make-up.
Though there were MBA programmes being offered in the country by several institutions, we were determined to offer an MBA programmed that would be counted among the best in the world. Thank God we will be starting lectures for the third intake in April.
As a nation and as a people, we have not always strived towards excellence, we can see, taste, touch, smell, feel ordinariness all around us. We can feel it, smell it, touch it, taste it, hear and see it.

As MBA professionals at Regent, you are part of a revolution to bring about the much- needed change in our country and our world. We are confronted by poverty, illiteracy, disease, and environmental degradation.
BUT you can only do this when you are still strong in your respective spheres of life. It is your ability to deal with these current and other emerging issues that will enable you leave a legacy in this world.
As LEADERS, we must make things happen, because things don’t just happen.
Let me share with you briefly some keys for successful living:

Fear God (acknowledge Him in all you do). Let God be the most important factor in your life;

Have a VISION for a better world;

Above all, live your life in the service of God and in the service of humanity.

With these, you will never fail.

You will leave a legacy.
