Smart Alert System Team to Represent Regent at Hult Prize National Competition
The Hult Prize 2024 on-campus competition took place today at the Regent Campus.
The Hult Prize is an annual international competition that challenges university students to solve pressing social issues through innovative business ideas.
The on-campus competition saw three Regent teams pitching their ideas to a panel of judges.
The participating Regent teams were:
Smart Alert System team, which presented a smart alert system that switches appliances on and off using SMS messages, along with a smart fire detector.
TecTour Ghana Innovators, a tourism initiative that provides an immersive online tourism and on-site tourism experience.
Talk2Me, which pitched an idea aimed at providing support to people with psychological problems.
The Smart Alert System team emerged as the winner in the on-campus competition and will therefore proceed to represent Regent University College of Science and Technology at the national competition.
The Smart Alert System Team comprised of: Andrews Owusu-Sekyere (Bachelor of Engineering student, Level 400), Christabel Quarcoo (BSc. Management with Computing student, Level 400) and Aseda Kofi Ayeh-Bampoe (Bachelor of Engineering student, Level 100)
